Zoning

How the City zones a neighborhood greatly impacts how the land is used and what types of buildings and businesses locate in the area. Areas zoned as industrial tend to host polluting facilities. Yet communities can influence how their neighborhoods are zoned and can advocate for rezoning to change permissible uses. NSCCEJ urges all North Shore residents to be active in all phases of the zoning process, including public hearings that address numerous issues such as environmental impacts, jobs, health and public safety.
