The North Shore Community Coalition for Environmental Justice (NSCCEJ) was formed after Staten Island’s North Shore was chosen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as one of 10 Environmental Justice Showcase Communities in 2010. Over the course of two years, EPA will assist the Coalition in helping to alleviate the environmental and human health challenges facing the community. EPA will provide technical assistance in creating a website, providing materials and funding select environmental justice programs.
